# Bonus Share Adjustment Price Calculator

> Work out the ex-bonus market price of a Nepal share.

https://laganisaathi.com/calculators/bonus-adjustment-price.md

## Formula

**Ex-bonus price** = market price ÷ (1 + bonus% ÷ 100)

A bonus ratio is a percentage of shares held, not of market value. A 10% bonus
issues 10 new shares for every 100 held, so the share trades in 1.10 parts
after the issue.

## Worked example

Market price Rs 500, bonus 10%:

- 1 + (10 ÷ 100) = 1.1
- 500 ÷ 1.1 = **Rs 454.55**

The price adjusts on the ex-bonus date, which is not the same as the day the
shares reach your demat account.

## Notes

- You are eligible for a bonus if you held the shares on the book closure date.
In Nepal the book closure is one day, not a multi-day window.
- Book closure to the shares appearing on NEPSE typically takes weeks to months,
with a median around 84 days.
